Athabascan Ceremonial House

The Alaska Native Heritage Center is pleased to announce the Athabascan Ceremonial House opening.  The building is open for rentals, meetings, ceremonies and more.  Unique log building with a sod roof (will be installed spring 2011) has a separate entrance and parking area away from the main building at the Center.

The Athabascan Ceremonial House has a 40' x 40' area for celebrations and gatherings.  The building accommodates 70-80 guests.  It has a kitchen with a five burner gas stove, oven, freezer, refrigerator, sink and dishwasher.  It is a new beautiful location for meetings, weddings, celebrations and other events.  Contact our events coordinator for more information and availability at 907-330-8013 or anhcrentals@alaskanative.net    Building Layout

The building design is based on a structure from Spirit Lake on the Kenai Peninsula.  The building was opened and celebrated with a traditional style potlach event on Jan. 21, 2011.  An Athabascan potlach of this scale had not taken place in the Anchorage area since 1939.   We are pleased to share this beautiful building with you!
